Beginner’s guidelines for your safety and well-being.

 Meals
Allow three to four hours after a heavy meal, one hour after fruit or very light meal.
Food can be taken half an hour after asana.
It is better not to drink to much water during practicing.

 Cleansing
Practice is deeper and safer with the empty bladder and bowels.
Taking a shower before and or after practice refreshes the body and mind

 Clothing
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to see your body movement.
Please remove all the accessories such watches, bracelets and necklaces.

 Precautions
 
Let the instructor know if you have a specific condition, disease or limitation before class. Often they will be happy to advise you how to work with it or what poses will affect you.

 Menstruation
 If menstruating, rest often; avoid back bends, twists abdominal contractions and inversions, as they will affect your menstruation.

 Pregnant
Let the instructor know.
Mist poses can be done in the first three months of pregnancy.

 Breathing
Breathing is always through the nose unless specified.  Holding the breath or undue force is not recommended.

 Eyes
 In the beginning usually keep the eyes open, to feel deeper close them.

 Talking
A sense of humour is an asset during practice, however excessive talking during class distracts other people from their experiencing.
